Mike Hanley, a longtime Jordan Valley Rancher has amassed one of the largest historic wagon collections in the West. Mike began restoring wagons at a young age. Salvaging a forgotten wagon discovered in the Owyhee Mountains set Mike on a life-long path of preserving western transportation history. Over the years, he honed his skills to become a master wheelwright, woodworker and blacksmith. Today, Mike’s collection of wagons, stage coaches and buggies are admired as one of the finest collections with more than 30 wagons restored to trail worthy service.
The Mike Hanley Wagon Barn is now open at the Owyhee County Historical Museum and Library in Murphy, Idaho. The exhibit is one of the finest examples of our transportation history.
